INNOVATION
CAPITAL RESEARCH INCORPORATED located
in Lenox, Massachusetts, was formed in January 2000 by a
principal and founding partner and two senior-level employees from Gilder
Technology Group, Inc., now Gilder Publishing. The company takes a unique
approach to investment strategy and research that sets it apart from
conventional "Wall Street" analysis.
While
still extremely important and not to be overlooked, most investment
research begins at the bottom, with fundamentals. Although this approach
was successful in assessing the great companies of the last century,
many of the most important companies of the present and future will
be built on intangible assets and intellectual property. The old model
does not necessarily work for the new order of companies that will dominate
this decade and this century.
Innovation
Capital Research goes beyond simply assessing whether or not a company
or a group of companies possess valuable intellectual property. More
importantly, our research attempts to determine if a company is headed
in the right direction based on broader underlying themes or paradigms.
Therefore, in gauging a particular company's value, Innovation Capital
Research begins at the top, with a macro analysis that determines if
a company or technology aligns with either the Telecosm or Powercosm
Paradigm.
It is Innovation Capital Research's familiarity with these two paradigms,
borne out of working closely with their creators, that gives us a significant
advantage in assessing individual equities. In the case of the Telecosm,
David Minor worked closely with George Gilder for over four years in
shaping the list of ascendant technologies that is published monthly
in the Gilder Technology Report. For the power companies fitting the
Powercosm Paradigm, Charles Leach worked with Mark Mills and Peter Huber
in developing the "Power Panel" which is a part of the Digital Power
Report each month.
